Bordeaux, The Sleeping Beauty

During your stay at Château Lamothe du Prince Noir, you will be only 25 kilometers from the center of Bordeaux. This magnificent city is the second in France, after Paris, with the most listed monuments.

During your visit to Bordeaux, you will not have time to get bored. We recommend that you go to the Place de la Bourse with its famous water mirror. Continue in the historic center with the Porte Cailhau, the Grosse Cloche, the Place des Quinconces and the Rue Sainte-Catherine. Continue your exploration of Bordeaux with a stroll on the quays, a visit to the Darwin ecosystem and the Cité du Vin, but also a stroll at the Marché des Capucins.

Saint-Émilion, more than 13 centuries of history

Perched on a rock, the town of Saint-Émilion is known throughout the world for its wines and magnificent wine châteaux. Saint-Émilion is a picturesque medieval village with many treasures. During your stay at Château Lamothe du Prince Noir, take the opportunity to go to the heart of the village and visit the Hermitage cave, the Monolithic church and the Trinity chapel. In the surroundings of the town centre, discover wine châteaux such as La Croizille, Fombrauge, Clarisse or even Château Mauvinon, enough to delight wine lovers.

Nature trail

From Château Lamothe du Prince Noir, you can go for a walk and discover the magnificent Bordeaux Cameyrac Golf Course just 10 minutes away by car. Ideally located in the "entre deux mers" between Bordeaux and Saint Emilion, between vineyards and century-old oaks, two golf courses and two tennis courts await you, all just a stone's throw from the Château. You can also enjoy the magnificent Pôle Equestre de Saint Sulpice et Cameyrac, 10 minutes away by car, where various activities around horse riding are offered. Don't forget to visit the surrounding Châteaux, to do some tastings and especially don't miss the visit to Saint-Emilion just 25 minutes from Château Lamothe du Prince Noir.

Near the Atlantic Ocean, discover the seaside resort of Royan. This small town on the east coast is about a hundred kilometres from our prestigious bed and breakfast between St Emilion and Bordeaux. With its five fine sandy beaches, Royan will satisfy all your desires for a change of scenery and calm. See you under the sun of the Atlantic coast ! 

The fabulous Bassin d'Arcachon

Immerse yourself in the heart of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, by visiting the Bassin d'Arcachon. You will be amazed by the visits offered: the Dune du Pilat, the Cabanes tchanquées on Île aux Oiseaux, the Winter Town, Cap-Ferret, the Banc d'Arguin, oyster ports such as l'Herbe and Biganos, or even the ornithological reserve of Teich.
